Overall very good. Room is clean and toilet is spotless. Good range of breakfast as well. However, I don’t like the fact that people enjoy to smoke directly in front of the entrance. Everyone I was walking in someone was directly in front of the door to the entrance and I had to walk through his/her fumes. When we also arrived there was a wedding going on which is fine. What’s not fine however, is people coming up and down the stairs drunk. Beds are comfortable and I had a good sleep on the first day. The following day however, our room was shaking from how loud the music was which gave me a massive headache the next day.
Amazing stay at victory hotel lovely large rooms for me and my family. staff where so Polite and helpful and lovely to talk to. Food was spectacular . Highly recommend staying here and eating here. Also went to a wedding here and the staff did perfect job made the day run smoothly and was very friendly and helpful to everyone at the wedding.
Lots of good things, nice rooms, good service at reception, great chef. Also received complimentary drinks because rooms were not ready. Some areas to look into.....smell as you enter the room area, coffee cups were not clean, no milk in the room for tea/coffee, i had booked a deluxe room but it looked like a standard.
Didn't stay here but we were given a voucher that my partner and I used for afternoon tea, as the description of it sounded really enjoyable. Unfortunately the reality of what we received fell way short of what was described on the voucher website. It wasn't even meeting the standard described of afternoon tea on the hotel's own website. No choice of sandwiches, just egg mayo, tuna mayo, cheese and onion in wraps or ham and tomato. Seriously, the fillings tasted like they came from a cheap catering pot or supermarket, rather than hand made. The fresh scone had been heated but it looked like the ones you buy at Tesco. Not really special occasion, more kids party grade food. The afternoon tea described by the hotel menu gave a range of sandwich options you could choose from and the options were more of the standard you expect. No offer of filter coffee, only the sachets of Nescafe like you get in a hotel room. No loose leaf tea, only bags. No glass of "fizz" either. The kicker is that the afternoon tea advertised by the hotel is £14.95 per person. The voucher cost £40. Absolutely the most cynical money grab ever as I expect the cost to this establishment was no more than £8 total.
We went to a wedding fayre and it was managed quite well regarding mask wearing and direction, good selection of vendors and I have also stayed here, my room was changed without any notice which was upsetting as I chose the room for my wedding night but the hotel moved me and put the bride who had her reception in the hotel so be aware. Staff are professional when dealing with you and the room I ended up in was clean but not the room I picked 8 month before.
