We got a few other items which were as follows :- 1. Meat and potato pie. Pastry so soft and didn’t hold together very well, it didn’t taste nice at all and tasted cheap as though it was made with lard NOT butter, the filling was absolutely bland/tasteless and just awful. It was extremely poor quality and we did not finish it. 2. Meat and potato pastie/slice. Very thin, very greasy, filling was absolutely bland/tasteless…just awful and we didn’t finish it. We found that the above items are extremely poor quality and extremely bland/tasteless which need to be addressed and cannot be given any star rating as they were so bad. We purchased a Bavarian slice which was excellent, big slice, gorgeous filling, pastry was crispy but not too crispy, icing was a lovely consistency and a perfect amount of jam. 5/5. We would definitely have this again. We also purchased a cheese salad baguette which was a 3/5. The bread itself was very nice BUT it needs more cheese and salad to get it up to a 5. We would have that again. We would only return to Pound Bakery to purchase a Bavarian slice and the above baguette. If we were not purchasing these, we would not recommend you visit.
Out and about in Royton and needed something to eat. Pound Bakery was recommended to me. The person who recommended this place mustn't like me at all!! Cold gelatinous egg on the smallest bread roll ever. Also ordered a "sausage sub", sausages were so rubbery they resembled something you would find in an adult only shop!!! Shame I couldn't rate zero as 1 star is more than generous!!! AVOID at all cost, was disgusting!!!!
Just order two pasties from your self for £3.20. They was cold under cooked. Tasted awful. Worse pasty I have ever had.
Honestly the food is ok but the staff :O had some troll working behind the counter today who was just horrible. Left me stood at the till for ages. When I was saying excuse me (10 times) she literally looked at me and ignored me. I said excuse me again she looks at me like I've just slapped her mum and says WHAT. I ask can I pay. She huffs and puffs stomps over and just shouts the price at me. Honeatly the most disgusting customer service who even is this woman 😂😂
Staff would double charge you if they thought they could get away with it serve food with no electric, no gloves no masks no see thru barrier covid central, results in food poisoning ! Royton staff 😖 ruin the company name Wigan pound bakery much more compliant to health and safety
